(Bayamon, Puerto Rico)... The Rochester Rhinos, unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches, traveled to Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, Puerto Rico on Friday night.  The clash was the first of the season between the two teams.  Rochester carried a 6-3-3 all-time mark against the Islanders into the match.

The Islanders opened the scoring in the 12' when Cristien Arietta finished off a Noah Delgado cross to give the home side an early 1-0 lead.  Puerto Rico increased their lead in the 26' when Edwin Miranda beat Rhinos ‘keeper Scott Vallow with a long shot to his left.

Rochester's Luke Kreamalmeyer nearly cut the lead in half in the 37^' but saw his header float just over the crossbar.  Neither team generated much offense in the remaining time sending the host Islanders to the dressing room with a two-goal lead after 45 minutes.

Puerto Rico established a flurry of action early in the second half that resulted in their third goal of the match - this one by Fabrice Noel in the 62' of play.  The third tally was followed up by shots by Johnny Steele, and Delgado that nearly increased the home lead by four. 

The trouble continued for Rochester in the 73' when Miranda netted his second of the match and third of the season making the score 4-0.

The two teams will meet again on Sunday at PAETEC Park - kick-off is slated for 6:00 p.m.
