The Rochester Rhinos will be playing three pre-season matches before they kick off their 2013 USL PRO season on Saturday, April 13th at 7:35PM (EST) against the expansion Tampa Bay Flames. The Rhinos pre-season will be highlighted by a visit from USL PRO club Pittsburgh Riverhounds and two local NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer teams.

We're all excited to be getting back to work after a long off- season.” Rhinos head coach Jesse Myers said. “We brought back 14 players from last year's team who have a common motivation after the way last season ended. We're also excited to see how some of the new pieces that we added during the off-season will fit into the team. The nice thing with this club is that the objective is the same every season – win a championship. The hard work for this team to work towards that goal officially begins on Saturday.”

The Rhinos pre-season schedule kicks off on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Sahlen’s Stadium against Canisius College at 7:30pm. The Pittsburgh Riverhounds U14 team will play the Rochester Rhinos U14 team on Sunday, March 24th , 2013 at 1PM and the professional sides will kick-off at 3PM. The Rhinos conclude their pre-season schedule against Colgate University at Sahlen’s Stadium on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 3:00pm. Admission to all Rhinos pre-season matches will be free.

The Rochester Rhinos are bringing back 14 players from last year's roster for the 2013 USL PRO season including 2012 USL PRO Goalkeeper of the Year Kristian Nicht, 2012 USL PRO Defender of the Year Troy Roberts, and 2012 USL PRO First Team selection and team MVP J.C. Banks. During the off-season Coach Myers added former Orlando City striker Matt Luzunaris (18 matches – 9 goals in 2012) and MLS striker Blake Brettschneider (DC United, New England Revolution). The Rhinos are expecting to announce two signings from their 2012-13 combines, and at least one more player with MLS experience later this week.

The Rochester Rhinos are opening training camp on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 9:00AM at Sahlen’s Stadium with player physicals. The first training session will take place at 4:00PM. This will be the second year Rhinos head coach Jesse Myers will be working with Strength and Conditioning Coach Adam Terry and his Power Train Program.

Adam Terry is a professional through and through.” Myers said. “Over the course of his career he's amassed knowledge about physical fitness, injury prevention, and rehabilitation that is second to none. We're now seeing the results of the work that he has put in with our guys because they look fitter and stronger this year.”
