Kickoff is set for 4:05pm as we celebrate "Soccer Mom Appreciation Day"

The two oldest clubs in the league face off in Rochester on Sunday, May 21st as the Richmond Kickers come to town for a USL and Old Guard Shield match. Kickoff is slated for 4:05 pm at Capelli Sport Stadium.  You can also catch the match LIVE on ROC Sports Network on WGBT Channel 18/46.1.

The two sides are having drastically different seasons.  Rochester is coming off a 3-0 US Open Cup Second Round victory over FC Motown (NJ), while Richmond was eliminated by amateur side Christos FC (MD) 1-0 despite a 22-10 shot advantage.

Rochester finds themselves in 10th place (2-1-2) in the Eastern Conference Standings after playing a USL-low 5 matches.  Richmond (2-4-2) sits in 13th place after 8 matches.

The Rhinos have had no problem finding the net, scoring 9 times.  Richmond; on the other hand, have only been able to find the net on 4 occasions this year.

This match has a good chance of becoming a goalkeeper battle. Rhinos starting goalkeeper Tomas Gomez has been a rock between sticks with two clean sheets in four matches, only conceding two goals from open play.  Richmond's three goalkeepers have yet to give up more than one goal in any match this season.

The Rhinos will be without two of their key players, as Wal Fall serves a one-match suspension for a retroactive red card given to him after the Charlotte match, and Christiano Francois will be out with an undisclosed injury.

The Rhinos play their second of five straight home matches, while the Kickers begin their three-match road trip.

Richmond swept the season series with a pair of 1-0 victories in 2016.  Both squads made the playoffs, with Richmond finishing 12-9-9 and earning the 7th seed, while Rochester comfortably finished 4th with a 13-5-12 record.
