Rochester Rhinos

In 2012 Roberts anchored the league's second best defense which allowed only 23 goals in 24 matches en route to a second place finish in the USL PRO Regular Season Table.  Roberts was selected as the club's co-Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season.  He was selected to the All League Team for the third consecutive season – this time as a First Team All-USL PRO selection.  Roberts joined Scott Schweitzer as only the second player from the club to be selected as the league Defender of the Year.  Roberts started every minute of the season for the second time in his career with Rochester.  He took three shots, committed 25 fouls and was booked three times.  2012 was his second season as the captain of the Rhinos.

Troy Roberts was named the captain of the Rhinos for the 2011 season and led the team to the USL PRO National Division regular season title. He was selected to the USL PRO Second Team. Roberts helped anchor a defense that was ranked third in goals conceded and first in goals conceded at home as a starting center back. The team kept nine clean sheets.

In 2010 Roberts was selected to the USSF D2 Best XI team after playing every minute in every match in all competitions. He helped anchor a defense that finished third best in goals conceded and kept ten clean sheets. The Rochester Rhinos won the 2010 USSF-D2 Regular Season Championship in his first year with the club.

Professional

USL: Roberts played twenty-nine matches for the Cleveland City Stars in the USL First Division in 2009.

MLS: Troy Roberts played 61 matches for the Los Angeles Galaxy from 2005 to 2008. He was a part of the Galaxy’s double winning side in 2005. He was Los Angeles’s First Round Pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft (eight overall). Roberts played in more MLS matches before joining the Rhinos than any other player in franchise history.

College

Cal: Troy Roberts attended UC Berkeley where he was named a, All-PAC 10 selection in 2003 and 2004.
